Here and loving it!

Apartment? Check. Job? Check. Love affair with the city? Check. Bonus points for anyone who can spot me in this picture - it's the city skyline reflected in Cloud Gate at Millennium Park.

The Great American Drive Bye

Kate, Phyllis, and I had a splendid time as we gunned it across the better part of the country. Highlights included:
Bryce Canyon, with possibly the best star-gazing in the world;

Mike the Headless Chicken in Fruita, Colorado;

The world's largest easel with an enormous reproduction of one of Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers paintings in Goodland, Kansas. Man, that easel was HUGE;

The Barbed Wire Museum in LaCrosse, Kansas, the Barbed Wire Capital of the World. On a side note, LaCrosse has trademarked "Barbed Wire Capital of the World," so you will not be able to appropriate the phrase for your own use;

Lucas, Kansas. The Garden of Eden, The World's Largest Collection of the Smallest Replicas of the World's Largest Things, and, of course, fork art;

Seeing my grandparents in Kansas City;

Lunch and karaoke at Girlfriends Let's Do Lunch in Independence, Missouri;

The arch in St. Louis.

Not to mention, The Elvis is Alive Museum, the World's Largest Catsup Bottle, and Ben's Diner in Green River, Utah.

Last Hurrah, or Something

Who knew leaving Santa Barbara would enhance my social life so much?
Thank you to all the friends and family who made my last few weeks in Santa Barbara so... so... memorably out-of-character!
